Hybrid & Air-pressure

Hybrid brewers combine immersion and filtration, and sometimes gentle air pressure. The AeroPress is the most famous; switch-valve drippers such as the Hario Switch let you steep and then drain through a paper filter. They are versatile, travel-friendly and ideal for experimenting.

What is a hybrid coffee brewer?

A hybrid coffee brewer combines steeping (immersion) with filtering, and sometimes with gentle pressure. The AeroPress steeps coffee then uses air pressure to push it through a paper filter; a Hario Switch steeps then drains through a cone. They are versatile and easy to fine-tune.
