The AeroPress Go is the travel version of the AeroPress, released by AeroPress in 2019. It brews exactly the same way as the Original, steeping the coffee and then pressing it through a filter, but it has a smaller chamber and packs inside its own mug with a lid, along with everything you need to brew. Here’s how to use it, what comes in the box and how it compares with the Original and the Go Plus.

How much coffee does the AeroPress Go make?
The chamber holds up to 8 oz (237 ml), the maximum AeroPress states for the Go. It makes a single, concentrated cup, which you can drink as it is or top up with hot water for a longer coffee. If you want to brew more at once, AeroPress says the AeroPress XL has twice the capacity of the Original.
What grind size should I use?
The same as any AeroPress: around medium-fine. Adjust from there: finer if it tastes sour and thin, coarser if it’s bitter or hard to press.
How do you use the AeroPress Go, step by step?
- Unpack it. Take the lid off and lift out the filter holder, chamber and plunger. The stirrer and scoop are inside the plunger.
- Fit a filter in the cap, screw the cap onto the chamber and stand it on the mug.
- Add the coffee, measured with the scoop that comes with the Go.
- Add hot water to the marks on the chamber and stir with the fold-up stirrer.
- Press slowly and steadily.
- Top up with hot water if you like a longer drink.
For recipes and the full technique, see the main AeroPress guide. If you want to steep longer without drips, the Flow Control filter cap fits the Go.
How do you clean and pack the AeroPress Go?
Unscrew the filter cap over the bin and push the plunger through to pop out the used coffee and filter. Rinse the parts, then pack them back the way they came out: stirrer and scoop into the plunger, plunger into the chamber, chamber into the mug with the filter cap facing up, the filter holder on top, and the lid on.

Should I buy the AeroPress Go?
- Buy the Go if you want an AeroPress for travel, camping or the office, and you usually make one cup at a time.
- Buy the Go Plus if you’d like your coffee to stay hot on the move. It brews into a double-wall, vacuum-insulated stainless steel tumbler and makes up to 10 oz per brew.
- Buy the Original or the Clear if it’ll mostly live at home.
More on choosing in the AeroPress kit guide.

- Body is how heavy and textured coffee feels in your mouth, from light and tea-like to thick and syrupy.
