Editorial policy
Trust matters. Here is exactly how every guide on Daily Extraction is made.
Research
We start from primary sources: manufacturers, standards bodies such as the Specialty Coffee Association, cultural institutions such as UNESCO, historical texts and practitioners of each tradition. Every guide lists its sources at the bottom of the page.
Testing
Wherever possible, we brew the method ourselves and refine the recipe until it is repeatable at home. Recipes are given by weight because it is the most reliable way to get consistent results.
Writing
Each guide opens with a short, direct answer, then a facts table, step-by-step instructions, deeper explanation, FAQs and sources. We write in plain British English and explain jargon in our glossary.
Updates and corrections
Every guide shows when it was published and last updated. If you spot an error or know a tradition better than we do, please get in touch and we’ll correct it promptly.
Independence
We are not paid to feature any method or product. If we ever earn commission from links, it is disclosed clearly on the page and in our affiliate disclosure, and it never influences what we recommend.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help organise research and draft structure. Every published guide is reviewed, fact-checked against its sources and edited by a person before it goes live.
