Pour-over & Drip

Pour-over and drip methods pass water through a bed of ground coffee held in a filter. Because fresh water keeps flowing past the grounds, they extract efficiently and produce a clean, bright, tea-like cup. This family covers hand brewers such as the V60, Chemex and Kalita Wave, plus automatic drip and batch brewers.

What is pour-over coffee?

Pour-over coffee is made by pouring hot water by hand over ground coffee in a filter cone, letting it drip through into a cup or carafe. It typically uses about 1 g of coffee to 15–17 g of water and takes 2–4 minutes, producing a clean, bright cup.
