Immersion vs percolation
What is immersion vs percolation in coffee?
Immersion brewing steeps all the coffee in all the water at once, as a French press does. Percolation passes fresh water through a bed of coffee, as a V60 does. Percolation usually extracts more efficiently and gives a cleaner cup; immersion is more forgiving and fuller-bodied.
Many modern brewers are hybrids that combine both. See the hybrid brewers category.
