Flash brew

Also known as flash-brewed coffee, flash brewing

What is flash brew in coffee?

Flash brew is a way of making iced coffee by brewing hot coffee directly onto ice, so it cools instantly. It takes minutes, not hours, and keeps the bright, fruity aromas that cold brew loses. Use about half the usual hot water and replace the rest with ice so the strength comes out right.

Flash brew is also called Japanese iced coffee. See Japanese iced coffee and the iced recipe in the V60 guide. It is not the same as cold brew, which never touches hot water.
